One of the reasons I adore my career is it allows me to meet so many unique and wonderful people. I recently received a call from a gentleman ready to pop the big question. His one year anniversary with his girlfriend was approaching and he explains to me that he will proposing to her at dinner and returning home to a lavish celebration with friends and family. Fast forward to the engagement night and as I am driving to the location I can’t help but think to myself, I hope she said YES! 🙂
From the moment I walked in, I was captivated by the warm and romantic setting the lucky groom to be created. I mean think about it, the small, intimate details are usually handled by us fabulous women! : ) There were soft floral arrangements, perfectly dimmed lighting with pillar candles, tasteful coloured balloons, “we’re engaged” napkins and even “She said Yes” plaques. The house was overflowing with friends and family mingling, laughing and celebrating in the next chapter of their lives together.
Greeted by the ecstatic bride to be and her ever doting groom, I could not wait to start shooting this romantic setting and the relaxing atmosphere. The lighting was tricky as you can’t overpower with flash or else you will lose the natural soft mood. I love lighting challenges, it gives me such creative insights and opens so many possibilities for capturing different moods and feelings throughout the event. The documented images of guests sampling hors d’ouerves, sipping wine and chatting are definitely preserved in my images. My goal is always to please and deliver above and beyond to my clients.
